Scramble!

The order came down from the bridge to scramble, and Sherra wasted no time. Normally, she was not part of the fighter forces, but some of their pilots had not arrived by the time the ship had left port. They would come via the Mobile Doorway, but they were not here yet, so she had to fill in.

As she hopped up into the cockpit of her fighter, she noticed the others doing the same. They were very efficient; good. Once seated and strapped in -- yes, there were real straps in case the dampeners failed -- she activated the helmet headset. "All fighters, we're going for combat launch on my mark. Sound off."

Once she had received confirmation from her entire squadron, Sherra gave the order. The fighters launched, spreading themselves out between the FarVoyager and the oncoming hostiles, breaking into smaller groups and reciprocating attack for attack. And Sherra was right in the forefront of it all. She loved this! It stirred her blood. Her Triune was going to get one hell of a Session tonight!
