Mission: What Lies In The Darkness
Location: Sector XR-46, Near the InterStellar Doorway
Timeline: 248001.01 1200

As the FarVoyager cleared the event horizon of the great Interstellar Doorway, the shimmering pool of light and energy flickered and seemed to withdraw into the layer of space it had been pulled from to create the doorway in the first place. As it did, the great generators that created the door vanished again, hidden behind their powerful phased DarkShields (phase cloak), leaving the very large vessel alone in that space.

On the bridge of the FarVoyager, Maralen Seitha stood before the large viewscreen, studying the space beyond his ship with narrowed eyes. Something was wrong, but he was having trouble pinpointing what it was. The voice of the Helm Officer, however, drew his attention and clarified it for him.

"It's... empty," Merrynda breathed.

That was it! There was, on the transmission, mention of attacks, but there was no one here except for the FarVoyager herself. "Lyta, please do a full sweep of the area. I want to know about any ship within range," he called to the bridge at large.

Lyta's duty hologram shimmered into being beside her captain. "There are no ships within my sensor range." Her tone indicated that she, too, found that at the very least odd.

"That doesn't make sense, sir," Merrynda protested even as she continued to pilot the ship toward their destination.

"True, it doesn't. Let's keep our eyes open. Go to Yellow Alert, Lyta, and call the senior officers to the bridge. I want to be ready for whatever is here."

Lyta nodded, then her voice sounded throughout the ship. "All crew of FarVoyager, we are now at Yellow Alert. Senior Staff to the bridge. All other personnel to stations. This is not a drill." Then she fell silent.
